RR LCBO gets new manager from Emo

There is a new face at the Rainy River Liquor Control Board store.
Judy Vanderzeeuw of Emo has been hired as the new manager, replacing Patti Palson who transferred to another store earlier this year.
Vanderzeeuw worked as a casual labourer in Emo for 18 years. She started shortly after moving there from Sarnia, Ont. “I was looking for a change of pace,” she said, and the Emo area offered that.
She noted that there are not a lot of opportunities to become a manager in the area so when Rainy River became available she jumped at the chance.
Her first official day of work was August 19, 2002 and so far she has found it to be a great experience. “The people are very friendly here!”
She has decided to commute daily and stay in her long time home in Emo.
She hopes to make some changes in product lines at the store, noting that she has already brought in more of the specialty Sleeman beers. She also noted that far more 12 packs leave the RR store than 24’s. For that reason she is planning to stop putting cold 24’s in the coolers and stock more 12 packs in them.
She complimented her casual staff, Andre Bremault, Sandy Hartnell and Patricia Hanson, noting that they all will still be working at the store.
