Frances Theresa "Frankie" Wilson, 94

Frances Wilson, age 94, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Pinecrest Home for the Aged. She was born February 8, 1915 in Rainy River, Ontario to the late Albert and Tressa Hodges. On November 28, 1936, Frances was united in marriage to Richard Phillip Wilson in Dryden, Ontario. They built and operated a tourist camp on Eagle Lake and while there, had 2 lakes named after them, (Richard Lake and Frances Lake). Frankie was a long time resident of Rainy River Ontario. Frankie loved to curl, bonspiels were the highlight of her winters and she had the opportunity of skipping a team in the Northwestern Ontario Play downs. Frances and her husband enjoyed travelling coast to coast from the Atlantic to the Pacific Oceans, as well as touring Europe while visiting with her son and his family in Germany when Phil was stationed there. She loved to play cards.
Frankie was predeceased by her husband, Richard( Dick) on May 22, 1999; by her two brothers, Stan and Gordon, and her three sisters, Mable, Catherine and Florence.
Frances is survived by her son, Phillip Wilson and wife Darlene of Kenora, Ontario; two grandchildren, Glen Wilson and wife Karmen and their children Frances, Fletcher and Michaila of Calgary, Alberta; and Gary Wilson and wife Shari and their children Joshua and Jacob of Kenora, Ontario. Mom’s greatest joy was her great grandchildren and was known as Nana Great to them.
If there are angels on earth we know they are the staff at Pinecrest home they extended them selves beyond the line of duty, Frankie loved them all, we will be forever grateful for their loving care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held on 17, April, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at the Knox United Church in Rainy River, Ontario. Mark Mast will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ontario.
Family and friends may attend a viewing from 7 until 8:30 p.m. April 16, at the Rainy River Funeral Home in Rainy River, Ontario.
The active pallbearers will be Glen Wilson, Gary Wilson, Scott Downs, Gary Wilson, Jason Wilson, Blake Russell
The honourary pallbearers will be Verna Barsey, Gerry Marchuk, Iris Marquis, Wanda Lundgren, Nellie Orr, Norma Godfrey, Greg Hodges.

I loved you all to the very last.
Weep not for me, but courage take,
Love for each other, for my sake.
For those you love don’t go away,
They walk beside you every day.
