Rainy River Trade Show is Saturday

With more that 60 exhibitors signed up, this year’s Rainy River and District Chamber of Commerce Trade Show promises to be awesome!
Last year the efforts of a dedicated committee, including Rainy River Community Coordinator Anthony Mason, saw the show grow from previous years, but at the last minute it was thwarted by a freak snow storm that dumped 18 inches in one day.
“Hopefully the weather cooperates this year and the people come out,” said Mason Monday morning.
While the event used to be two days, it was reduced to one last year so that organizers could rejuvenate it. “We had to show that we could host a stand-up event,” said Mason. If it continues to grow like it did again this year, “We may add another day next year.”
Some of the new exhibitors this year include Tompkins Hardwar, Railroad Daze Committee, Sunset Country World of Water and the Rainy River Hospital Aux. as well as many more.
Many favourites such as The Source, Spruce Creek Golf Course and many others are back again this year (see advertisement on page seven of our printed edition for a complete listing of exhibitors).
Three great food vendors will be on hand: Quality Bakery, Mom’s Chinese Restaurant and The Covenant Church.
KidSport will be hosting kids activities outside the arena from 1-4 p.m.
The Trade Show will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and there is a $2 admission charge. The Chamber of Commerce is giving away a $500 door prize (RR Chamber Bucks) and many of the exhibitors are offering draws at their respective booths.
Mason said that this year’s event has come together even more smoothly than last year and he is confident that the public will enjoy themselves at the event. “There is something for everyone this year!”
Mason noted that they are reaching their capacity in the arena and if necessary there may be vendors set up on the main floor of the Community Centre.
