Hosp. Aux getting ready for Strawberry Social on May 20th

Seventeen members came to our regular meeting, several as new members. Welcome to all. We opened with the auxiliary prayer, Carolee Hogue read the minutes of the last meeting, and followed with a report of the H.A.A.O. Conference, held in Dryden, April 18th. Six district auxiliaries were represented, and it is always interesting to hear what some of the other groups are doing. The executive meeting in the fall will be held in Rainy River, September 12, in the hospital board room.
May is our month to do Meals on Wheels, and the workers are 4th - 8th Myrna & Larry Armstrong; 11th - 15th Lena Beukert & Betty Blight; 18th - 22nd Angie & Shirley Armstrong; 25th - 29th Jessie Bodnarchuk & Irene Hanson. Also it was requested members keep track of their volunteer hours, these to be totaled at the end of the year and forwarded to a provincial tally.
In the absence of Treasurer Brig McGreevy, Myrna Armstrong read the financial report. The rock-a-thon was a rocking success, netting us $2349.87. Thank you to all who donated. This will help towards our projects, i.e. the installation of the walk in bath tub for acute care patients, and the emergency ultra sound machine. Our previous project, purchasing physio equipment for the Wellness programme ($15000.00) is now in the last stage of completion. It is being installed at the hospital and should be ready shortly.
Our next fund raiser is the annual Strawberry Social, to be held May 20 at the Legion from 2 - 4 p.m. As in other years we will have a penny table, draws and a door prize. Tickets for our raffle a large bird feeder and a stone goose lawn ornament will also be available, and will be drawn, in the afternoon. Items for the penny table are needed and have to be in by a week before (13th). They can be left either with Myrna Armstrong or Brig McGreevy.
Our next meeting will be a luncheon, on June 2. The phoning committee will let you know where, and how much it will cost.
