Rainy River man charged for operating marijuana grow-op

Over the past few weeks, the Fort Frances OPP Crime Unit investigated several break and enter occurrences. As a result of their criminal investigation, officers of the Rainy River District OPP Detachment, the Fort Frances OPP Crime Unit and the Rural Agricultural Crime Team conducted a search of a residence in Rainy River.
The search resulted in officers seizing 212 marihuana plants along with several pieces of stolen property. The potential street value of the marihuana seized is $212,000.00.
OPP have charged John KIRKRUDE, age 27 years of Rainy River with the following criminal charges:
Production of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
Possession of Property Obtained By Crime under the Criminal Code of Canada
Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
John KIRKRUDE is schedule to appear in court on September 21, 2009 in Fort Frances.
