JESSIE VALENTINE HUGHES

Peacefully on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Rainy River Health Centre, Jessie Hughes (nee Cay) of Rainy River, Ontario, passed away with her family by her side at the age of 83.
Jessie was born in Inverness, Scotland on August 17, 1925 to the late William and Alice Cay. Jessie was a draper’s assistant during the war, and served in the N.A.A.F.I and A.T.S. During the war Jessie met Richard (Ted) Hughes while he was serving in the north of Scotland and they were united in marriage on May 26, 1945 and came to Canada in June, 1946 residing in Rainy River, Ont.
Jessie is survived by her sisters Margaret Colebrooke England and Alice Coffyn of Sudbury, Ont. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and special friends.
Jessie was predeceased by her husband Ted (2008), her parents William and Alice, and brothers John and Frank Cay.
Family and friends were received at the St. James Anglican Church, Rainy River, Ont, on Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 7-9 p.m., where funeral service were held on Friday, June 5 , 2009 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Eileen Bragg officiating.
Interment took place in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Pall Bearers will be Sandra Coffyn, Derek Coffyn, Calvin Haglin, Donna Haglin, Bob Desrosier and Patti Desrosier.
