Morson Women’s Institute receives provincial award

Joanne Moen

Forest Women's Institute met at the home of Eileen Shannon on Nov 12th. The meeting opened with the Mary Stewart Collect read by Laurel.
Roll Call which was bring a memory, poem or story was answered by thirteen members. Some of our members relayed interesting memories for they had lived through this terrible time in history, while others read lovely poems and another brought us a list of little known facts about the war. It was an informative discussion.
Thea read the minutes of the last meeting and gave the financial statement. Both were approved by the members. We had a letter from the Hospital Auxiliary requesting a gift for the penny table at their bazaar to be held on Dec. 1. Thea will take care of this.
We also had a request from Emo Museum for donations of lunch and to the craft and penny table for the Museum Tea & Bazaar to be held on Dec. 7. Laurel will take our donations and institute friends to Emo that day. The motion to pay Thea for crafts for the Hospital Bazaar Penny Table carried.
Thea and Viv will take the bed jackets they knit to the hospital.
Our Christmas Supper will be held at the Gasthaus on Dec. 10th at six o’clock. Eleanor won both the raffle and door prize. Eileen served a delicious lunch. Thank you Eileen.
