RR team wins men’s hockey tournament

Last week the recreation centre was very busy with A Men’s hockey Tournament. We had 7 teams participating. The winner of the A event was Darren Davidson’s team The Border Bandits, finishing in second in the A was Travis Herbert from Dryden. In the B event The Jason O’Connell team from Ignace defeated the Local Spartans. Our next men’s tournament is slated for Feb. 20-21-22, 2003. Thank you to all the people who came out to help run the event, and to all the fans for their support.
Upcoming events for December include the annual Boxing day dance on December 26th, a pay and play hockey tournament on Saturday December 28th starting at noon. Of course, our New Years Eve Bash on December 31st.
Tickets are on sale now, so don’t be disappointed, pick up your tickets today. Tickets are on sale until December 21st.
On Friday, January 3rd we will be holding A Rainy River Youth New Year Dinner and Dance. Tickets can be purchased from the Rec centre. The dinner will begin at 6.30 with dance to follow featuring This Side UP. Tickets are $10.00 and this event is open to all. So, come out and support the Rainy River Youth, and enjoy a meal prepared by Jason Wilson, and an evening of local talent.
