Sandra Gail Quill
Sandra Gail Quill, age 38, of Big Island First Nation, Ontario, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at St. Josephs Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
She was born on December 6, 1970 in Rainy River, Ontario. Sandra was raised in Rainy River, Ontario, and later worked as a waitress at the Grassy Narrows Tourist Camp, and at Ash Rapids Tourist Camp near Kenora, Ontario. She was united in marraige to Sheldon Quill and raised their three children. After leaving the tourist industry, Sandra worked as a Substitute Teacher in Manitoba, and as well as for various other businesses in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. From there she moved with her three children to Rainy River, Ontario, and later to Big Island First Nation to live with her parents. Sandra was very well liked in the community, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by one sister, Patti Archie, and one brother, Louis Kirkrude Jr.
Sandra is survived by her parents, Louis Kirkrude and Lalie Archie of Big Island First Nation, ON., and her three children Cassandra Jasmin Ray-Vahn Quill, Raschel Jessica Quill, and Colton Louis G. Eldon Quill.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River, Ontario. Father Alan Albao officiating with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Rainy River, Ontario.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday evening from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River, Ontario. Parish prayers will be offered at 7 p.m.
Active pallbearers are George Kirkrude, Ryan Kirkrude, Derek Archie, Rod Traverse, Roy Tom and Brad Kirkrude.
