Seniors hold Christmas Party at the depot

Ev Moen

A beautiful day and a great afternoon when 25 “lovely people” met at the depot for their Christmas party.
The tables were prettily set by the hospital auxiliary girls who looked after us for the day. Bless you!
Gordon Armstrong opened the program by reading the Christmas message from the bible, we get so busy this time of year we sometimes forget about the true meaning of Christmas, so his message was indeed appreciated, thanks Gordon.
Gramma Jean and Gill Stamler took center stage, and what a treasure they are! They have been so busy with being in the community choir, I hope everyone got to see and hear the choir, they are magnificent. Jean and Gill still came and sang and played for us, we are so thankful. Santa arrived at 2 p.m. looking quite chipper after traveling, and with the help of a couple of elves, gave everyone a gift from under the tree. Thanks Santa for visiting us with a busy schedule.
The auxiliary girls, Myrna, Eunice, Doreen and Shirley served a delicious lunch. We had three birthday gals this month, Helen Johnson, Mildred Bell and Rose Roe, they blew out their candles and received cards and greetings from all.
Thank you Susan and Mark, for picking up and taking our seniors back to their residence, and also for helping at the depot, we all love you both.
The door prize was a pretty Christmas basket made and given by Darlene was won by Myrna.
We want to thank all who have come and shared their talents with our group through the year, we appreciate everyone so much for entertaining, and most of all for caring.
We wish you all a very merry Christmas and a healthy new year. God willing, our group will be back at the depot on January 8/03.
Another blessing we have is a new furnace at the depot. It was so comfortable yesterday. Praise the Lord!
Until next time,
take care,
luv u.
