RRHS students hold Christmas Carnival to kick off holiday break

Every year on the last day of school before Christmas break, the Rainy River High School student council hosts Christmas games. And every year is more fun than the last.
All of the afternoon classes are cancelled in favour of the games, and the whole school, teachers and students, are divided into four teams: the Steelers, the Hornets, the Destroyers, and the Royals. These teams compete against each other for an end prize and the knowledge that they won.
There are a variety of games that the teams are subject to: the eating contest, a question and answer round, pictionary, the treasure hunt, and a song and dance routine.
This year, the eating contest featured two glasses of egg nog, a Christmas orange, luke warm stuffing, cold mash potatoes, and four nanaimo bars. The teams wolfed this food down incredibly fast.
The question and answer round was extremely well received, and almost everyone got 100 percent on it.
Pictionary was fun for all of the teams, and everyone did very well in this round.
The treasure hunt was teamed with a short questionnaire about normal school stuff. People raced around the school finding all that was on their list, and then completed the questionnaire as fast as they could.
The songs that were created by each team had such flair and creativity in them that everyone should have come in first in this category. And the dance routines for these songs got funnier and funnier as each team presented.
By the end of the day, everyone had had so much fun that nobody really cared who won.
However, after the official tally was taken, the Steelers were victorious!
