Beautification committee wraps up a wonderful summer season

By Jeanette Armstrong
Beautiful Bloomers

Well another year is winding down and it's time once again to bring a report to our town. First - I would like to express gratitude to the committee members who faithfully attended our meetings and helped plant, weed and care for the flowers.
The Spring Clean-up at the park was well attended and many volunteers deserve out thanks for their efforts. A special thanks goes to the ladies who looked after weeding in the flower boxes on Main St. and the T.L.C. given to the cemetery flowers by one faithful member.
The baskets were fabulous this year and are grateful to those who bought baskets in memory of loved ones. They are Fred & Vivian Hartnell, Helen Madell, Janet Hughes, Gill Stamler, Joy Bourre, Marie Kreger, Carolyn Kreger, Jean Tooth, Karen Ruff, Iris Marquis, Janet Wolanicki, Sharilyn Wood, Marlene McNally, Verna Barsy, Gerry Marchuk, Don & Lu Ricci, Nicole & Rick, Richard Lund, Robert & Helen Kellner, McInnes Creek Chapel, The Trenchard family, Richard & April Trenchard, & Gord & Jeanette Armstrong.
Six trees were also purchased in memory by Janet Hughes, Cal & Noreen Robertson, Marie Kreger, Betty Blight, & Gordon Drennan.
Thank you, your donations and support are much appreciated and makes "our" town more beautiful.
Last year many Christmas lights were donated, but because winter came early we didn't get them up - so - this year we started early and started decorating a few more trees, we want to thank those who donated lights and those who helped put them up. We still have more to go up if you still have lights to donate, you may do so at the town office.
It is our goal to make our town as beautiful as possible, we need more volunteers and need the continued support of the volunteers we have.
