Stanley Robert Nelson, 73

Peacefully with his family by his side on October 30, 2009 at the Rainy Crest Long Term Care, Fort Frances, Ont, Stanley R. Nelson formerly of Bergland, Ont passed away at the age of 73.
Stanley was born on August 18, 1936 to the late Floyd and Lillian Nelson. Stanley grew up in Bergland and had a great love for Lake of the Woods, often guiding for New Moon Lodge and working on the “Ark” in Morson. For a time Stanley went out west to work later returning to Bergland, then making his home in Fort Frances.
He is survived by his children Robert (Gladys) of Westlock, Ab, Doug (Val) of Rainy River, Ont, Cheryl (Bob Jarvis) of Rainy River, Ont and Dale of Winnipeg, Mb, grandchildren Melissa (Dusty), Becky Louise, Neil, Becky, Jamie, and Hannah, great grandchildren Dakota, Madison and Hunter.
Also survived by brothers Roger (Kathy), Jerry (Dode), Allen (Paulette), Ricki (Janette), sisters Shirley (Leonard), Judy (Hughie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Stanley was predeceased by his parents Floyd and Lillian, brother Dennis and granddaughter Robyn.
Family and friends will be received at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ont on Wednesday November 4, 2009 from 7-9 p.m.
Funeral service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Bergland, Ont on Thursday November 5, 2009 at 2 p.m. Donald Larson officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment will take place in Bergland Cemetery at a later date.
Pall bearers and Honourary Pall Bearers will be Stanley’s family and friends.
