Red Hatters gearing up for new year rendezvous

On November 24th, thirteen ladies enjoyed a fun evening of Swap and Shop at the Covenant Church. The evening was called "I Want That." The ladies were asked to bring their "gently used" Red Hat attire, hats and jewelry. Some friendly bickering ensued as everyone tried to find a bargain. Everyone went home with a "new" treasure to wear at our upcoming events. Once the shopping was over, the ladies sat down to enjoy a variety of hot and cold finger foods, hot apple cider and dessert. The door prizes were won by Governess of Guitars (Charleen) and (as yet untitled) Becky Woods.
December 8th was the annual Christmas Rendezvous at the CN Hotel. After grace , said by Lady Jeanette (Jeanette Armstrong), a delicious meal was served by Patti and Valerie to the delight of all the ladies present. Lady Dolly of La Tea Da (Dawn) read us the meaning of the Twelve Days of Christmas. Following her readings we began a gift exchange where a lot of stealing went on to obtain the gift of choice. After many tries Lady Linda of LahDiDah relinquished her velour throw to Becky and Queen La Diva (Susan) lost her snow globe to Lady Round to It (Elsie).
Lots of fun and laughter followed as we tried out our memories on Christmas Trivia, a crossword puzzle and "Guess the Christmas Song". Prizes were handed out to Royal Purple Lady (Mary), Lady Linda, Lady Round To It (Elsie), Lady Dolly (Dawn) and Lady Cynthia (Cyndi). Each lady took home a Red Hat Christmas Lady Ornament. Table decorations of Red Hat Snow Ladies were made by Lady Linda. Many thanks to Lady Dolly and The Duchess of Wilson Creek (Bev) for arranging the event and planning the games. Thanks again to Patti for a delicious meal.
Looking forward to January we have a Book Club Lunch Meeting at the Smiling Moon in Baudette on January 12th at 11:30.
January's Rendezvous will also be held at the Smiling Moon on January 26th. The theme will be "Keep on Smiling." Everyone is asked to bring a happy story, reading, or trivia to this event. Deadline, cost, etc will be forthcoming once the details have been finalized.
