By Michael Dawber
Asst. Librarian
Your holiday reading is in season at the Rainy River Public Library!
Curl up by the fire with any of our latest arrivals. New titles include U is for Undertow by Sue Grafton, I Alex Cross by James Patterson, The Scarpetta Factor by Patricia Cornwell, and Ford County by John Grisham.
If a matinee is more your style, check out the new Star Trek, Road to El Dorado, Nights in Rodanthe, or season three of the hit British sci-fi series Torchwood.
Kids and teens will enjoy Jeff Smith’s Bone series, the 39 Clues, the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, and Kay Thompson’s Eloise Ready-to-Read Treasury.
If the weather outside is frightful, don’t forget you can renew your items any time at our website. Go to rainyriver.jasinorth.ca.
To renew, you will need your library card and your PIN number. Just call or visit the library to get your PIN.
Speaking of the internet, did you know free internet training is now available at the library?
Our internet assistant Alyssa is available to help you most weekdays after 3 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Library service begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday.) Beginners are always welcome.
If you would like to set up a free, one-hour lesson with Alyssa, please call the library at 852-3375.
With the holidays just around the corner, the library reminds you that we will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.
We will also be closing at 4 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.
The library book return will remain open through the holidays. However, if you are waiting for a book through interlibrary loan, please be aware there may be a few extra days’ wait.
The staff and board of the Rainy River Public Library wish you all the best for the holidays and a prosperous 2010!
