Gala ball in the works for Rainy’s 100th

A Gala Dress Ball is scheduled for Rainy River on Saturday, May 8 as part of the community’s Centennial Celebrations.

The Town’s Recreation Centre will be specially decorated to host the event, with Borderland’s Mood Indigo Brass Band providing the evenings music. Get out those dancing shoes and polish up your Polkas, Viennese Waltzes, Foxtrots and Two-steps. There may even be a Tango, Rumba or Twist thrown in for good measure.

Attendees are invited to outfit themselves in formal dress costumes popular anytime over the last 100 years.

Cocktails will be served from 7:30 on with a luncheon break at 10:30. Dancing will continue until the wee hours. Later you can walk your baby back home under the stars and a near full moon.
