Theater gets ready to ‘cut Foot Loose’, Curtain rises this Thursday
Tammi Bredson
Director of Footloose
They were shaking their feet to the rhythm of the music Sunday as a run through for the upcoming Baudette Community Theater production of Foot Loose was held.
This year’s show is very “High Energy” and will have the audience a toe-tapping along with the actors. It is the story of a sophisticated Chicago boy (played by Clark Hauger) who is transplanted to a small, hick, town in Texas. He loves to dance but his new town has law against dancing.
Things really heat up when he organizes local high school kids into challenging this law. Without spoiling the ending, let’s just say he gets them to all cut loose – Foot Loose!
Other cast members include Sarah Newell and Charlene Backstrom of Rainy River as well as a host of other people from the area.
The music will be played live by the local orchestra under the direction of Stacy Novak.
Foot Loose begins on Thursday and runs through to Sunday at the Baudette school auditorium. All proceeds from it will go to the Lake of the Woods School AAA Booster Club to help support extracurricular activities in the arts, athletics and academics.
