McCrosson-Tovell School in Bergland may be a small school, but it produced some big bragging rights last week.
Four of its students, Courtney Hansen, Austin Rencher, Jordan Hansen and Shane Rencher all travelled to the regional science fair competition in Kenora two weekends ago. Two of them came home decorated.
Courtney, in grade 4, came in Second in her grade for her project “Best Mits for You.” She conducted a test on five kinds of mittens using two thermometers. She put a sensor inside the mittens once with her hand inside and once without. She discovered that wool and nylon mittens were the warmest.
Shane Rencher received Honourable Mention for his project called “Get the Picture.” He showed how television first came into being and how it has changed over the decades.
