Accountability must start somewhere

Letter to the Editor,
When are the people of the Lake of the Woods Township going to stand up and tell council they’re tired of the small town politics being played in the council chamber?
First they hire every immediate spouse that applies for a job, and then they give themselves a raise.
Is it too much to expect interviews when there is more than one application for a job that is funded through our tax dollars?
How about asking that council listen to the opinion (that it asked for) of the roads superintendent about the hiring of a labourer? Is it true there was a bid for the labourer job for $2/hour less than the bid that was accepted from the spouse of a council member?
If there’s anything to be learned from the mess that is federal politics, it’s that taxpayers are getting sick and tired of even just the appearance of impropriety when it comes to the actions of elected officials.
Accountability must start somewhere.
Sincerely,
Justin Gaudry
