Great Beaver boat races a big hit again!

It was an afternoon of splishing and a splashing. Some managed to stay dry but most ended up wet at the 8th annual Great Beaver Cardboard Duct Tape Boat Races this past Sunday.
22 brave teams entered this year's event competing in several categories
There were several heets featuring two or three boats. They were all timed from the start at the Govt. Dock boat launch out to a buoy and back.
Winning the Children's Class was boat #1 The Rainy River Rockets, captained by Asher Chorney and crewmate Kevin Cunningham almost had the fastest time on the course at 1:31. 2nd place when to boat #13, The Teepwells Captained by Nick Teeple and crewmate Ashley Croswell. They had a time of 1:48. 3rd went to boat #6, The Titanic II Captained by Darrell Jonasson and crewmate Reece Chorney with a time of 2:08.
In the Family Class it was Boat #20, Abby n Rob, captained by Rob Tolen and crewmate Abbey Tolen with a time of 1:34. 2nd went to boat #22, The Timbits, captained by Dennis Boersema and crewmate Tim Boersema with at time of 1:38. 3rd went to The Woods, captained by Kam Kuzyk and crewmates Lara Wood, Jack Wood and Carly Nordin with at time of 1:38.
In the Adult Class the always fierce Desrosier Dragons had the fastest time of the day to win with a time of 1:22. They were boat #12 captained by Mark Pich and crewmates Colin Pich, Dustin Pich and Jessica Pich.
Coming in a close 2nd was the Aloha Cruise, boat #10, captained by Alexis Sharp and crewmates Patricia O'Connor and Mary O'Connor. They had a time of 1:30.
In 3rd place it was boat #8, Mundahl with at time of 1:50. It was captained by Darcy Mundahl and crewmated Danielle Abel.
After the main races were done an open free for all was staged where 16 of the 22 boats entere the water in kind of a last man or boat floating scenario.
They bumped into each other and did all they could sink one another. Winning the most Spectacular Sinking award was the Teepwells, boat 13.
The Best Theme went to Aloha Cruise, boat 10.
