Healthy Measures program to be offered in Rainy

Nicole Therrien; Rainy River’s Nurse Practitioner and community partner of the local Healthy Communities Coalition is offering the “Healthy Measures Program”. Are you struggling with weight loss? Have you been told that your cholesterol is too high? Maybe you just want to learn more about healthy lifestyles! If so, register for the “Healthy Measures” Program. “Healthy Measures” will help you to understand and evaluate your health status and assist you in making great choices. The program is based around a three-pronged approach of health eating, regular physical activity and self-esteem. The program is geared to improve your health condition, provide encouragement and will help to motivate you.
“Healthy Measures” will be delivered on a weekly basis at the Rainy River Health Center in Rainy River and is offered to anyone from Rainy River and our area. The program will include a weight and height measurement, BMI assessment, body measurement, cholesterol blood test and possibly other tests related to your health history. Information collected in the program will be kept confidential and will be used to help evaluate participants progress.
If you are interested in participating or wanting more information please call the Rainy River Clinic at 852-3222 between 9:30a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. “Healthy Measures” will be held weekly starting Thursday May 13, from 7:00p.m. to 8:30p.m. at the Rainy River hospital board room.
