Michael Dawber is the new Assistant Librarian at Rainy River Public Library. He is also as accomplished author and is seen here at the library with several of his books under his arms which are available to be singed out there.

Sarah Berg, right, of Rainy River served three years on the Riverside Board and received a letter of recognition for her service. Presenting the letter on behalf of the board was board member Norma Elliott.

High winds and rain storms over the weekend had people watching the skies and in some cases watching their trees. This tree fell, just grazing a Rainy River home at 310 Third St.

Riverview student Shauna Moen, right, received the Ontario Principal's Award for Leadership on Friday at grade 8 graduation. She was presented the award by Principal Lucinda Meyers.

Former Rainy River native John Bouchard was in Rainy River for a book signing. Bouchard has written three children's books, the latest being "Mr. Martin Gets Even." There was a steady flow of visitors and he sold more than 30 books. He is seen here signing one for Jean Desaulniers of Pinewood.

Rainy River's soccer program ended in Emo at the annual soccer jamboree there. Kids from Emo and Rainy River had fun playing soccer on Saturday. Sarina Godin of Rainy River is seen here getting boxed in by two Emo players.
