Here batter, batter!

Leaning tower of power

Last Tuesday afternoon, a pole identified by Hydro One about nine years ago, as needing to be replaced, finally snapped due to rot at its base. Residents in and around the 200 block of Third Street in Rainy River were without power as Hydro One crews replaced it with a new one. There are many poles around town that have red flags tied around them; identified when Hydro was looking to purchase the local utility. They were said to be in need of replacement. There are still many with that same flag, now faded, around them in the Town of Rainy River.
