Valentine’s Day is a scant two weeks away and already the thoughts of doing something special for my wife if bouncing around in my head. As a romantic holiday, Valentine’s Day often includes gifts of roses and chocolates. La Place Rendezvous and La Flambé each have created their own special romantic menu.

We all know all about water, don't we? We drink it - we wash in it - we give it to our animals - we water the garden - water is all over the place.

Word is that there are some steep cuts to public services and drastic changes to our pension system coming in the next federal budget. The big question I have is ‘why?’

In the last couple of months, my northern caucus colleagues and I have been raising concerns about the standards being used to maintain our highways in the winter.

The Harper Conservatives have made a mess of our Employment Insurance system. While tens of thousands of Canadians struggle with losing their incomes only to have access to their EI benefits delayed, rejected, or expire the Conservatives appear content to let them suffer by eliminating thousands of Service Canada jobs and wasting millions on the creation of a useless department to oversee the program.
