NDP busy holding PCs to account

It may be a sleepy summer in some ways, but New Democrat researchers in Ottawa are busy as always and holding the Harper Government to account. Last week our researcher’s uncovered previously unknown documents that show to what extent then Industry Minister Tony Clement went to funnel tax-payer money into his riding. The findings, to say the least, are disturbing from an ethical perspective.

Take your kid fishing

There was a television commercial that showed a young person with a father in a boat. It opened showing both persons alone. Then it expanded to show the two in the boat with fishing poles in their hands and the caption “If you want some face time with your child, take them fishing.” I thought about this on Sunday when I took Layna and Nicholas Pedesky fishing with their father Tim.
We were after walleye and were up near Rebecca Island.

Great memories of the fair

This weekend marks the beginning of the end of summer. As long as I can remember, the Emo Fair always led into going back to school. The fair with its noisy carnival of rides, spun cotton candy, food booths always brought our family to Emo. It was a must do occasion and both my brother and I looked forward to it.
