Girls hockey gets high school nod

That will be the newest cry across the area this coming winter when local girls from the Rainy River, Indus and Baudette high schools take to the ice in a sports cooperative featuring girls hockey.

Well not quite but tributaries into the Rainy River are all extremely low this spring which has prompted the Lake of the Woods and Rainy Lake Water Control Boards to reduce outflows of their respective lakes to the lowest outflow allowed in their governing rule curves.

Blackleg is a disease of cattle, and less frequently of sheep, caused by a soil-borne bacterium. The disease develops rapidly in affected animals and often death occurs before the owner has noticed any sickness in the herd.
