William Herbert Govier, 84
Peacefully on August 04, 2007 William (Bill) Govier passed away at LaVerendrye Hospital with his family at his side. Bill was born July 12, 1923 at home in the town of Auburn, Huron County Ontario to Herbert and Alice Govier. He will be greatly missed by loving wife Margaret (nee Nesbit) of 61 years, daughter Linda (Stanley) Armstrong, sons Tom (Gail), Herb (Donna) and one sister Laura Sillery of Exeter, Ontario. Bill adored his grandchildren Corrie (Emma), Lisa (Ryan), Russell, Jennifer (Dave), Sarah and Jim as well as his great grandchildren Evan, Keira and Dillon and sister in law Lill Govier of Oshawa, Ontario. After farming in Huron and Perth County, Bill and Marg moved their family in 1962 to the Rainy River District. Bill was a farmer, logger and worked 21 years for C.N.R. as track man and foreman. He enjoyed his charolais cattle, donkeys, goats and chickens. His first job in the Rainy River District was clearing the right of way of Hwy. 11. Bill was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Alice; brothers Carl and Albert Govier. Family and friends were received at the Northridge Funeral Home, Emo, Ontario on Tuesday August 07, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M., where funeral services were held on Wednesday August 08, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. Reverend Eileen Bragg officiated. Interment in Emo Cemetery. Pall Bearers were Tony Bliss, Ken McDonald, Delbert Redford, Ken Fisher, Dennis Pelepetz, and Andrew Nussbaumer.
