From the left, Joe Andrews, Mark Singleton, Josh Wilson, Zach Sopotiuck, P.J. Sopotiuck, Nadia Johnson, Brittany Pearson, Aislinn Johnson and Nikki Dyck all members of the RRHS Drama Club entertained about 50 people last Wednesday when they held a free night at the improv.

Verna Barsy, Anne Mailloux, Laurene Hannam, Mary Michniewicz, Irene Hanson, Rudy Sinninghe, Dode Budreau, Vivian Hartnell, Myrna Armstrong, Bill Szlauko and Larry Armstrong were among the more than 100 area volunteers honoured last Tuesday by the Province at a special ceremony in Fort Frances.

Here is a shot of Susan's Corner Store still smoldering Tuesday morning. The brick walls and store front were left intact but the roof and interior were gutted by fire.

Here is a shot taken the morning after around 10 a.m. It shows the rubble inside the store.

Six men were recognized Friday at the Rainy River Legion, Major Hughes Br. 54 for their years of service. Fr. left, President Gerry Marchuk presents Manny Nordin (60+ yrs.), Fred Hartnell (60+ yrs.), Joe Kaliska (55+ yrs.), Les Ivall (55+ yrs) and Jack Rattigan (55+ yrs.) with their respective service pins. Missing from photo is Herb Nelson (55+ yrs).

This lone firefighter held their post for a long time fighting the flames that gutted Susan's Corner Store early Tuesday morning in Rainy River.
