This is one of the widespread trees of eastern North America. It's scientific name is Abies, balsamea, commonly known as Balsam or Fir, or both.

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a nice holiday season and was able to spend some time with loved ones. I had a great time in the riding over the break.

Sometimes you forget things that you do with your children and are reminded later in life. It happened to me on Sunday. With my two sons at home, they both were out helping me shovel the snow from the driveway and walkways around the house.
