This week I would like to offer a bit of a recap of the spring session of parliament that is now behind us and let you know that our Atikokan Constituency Office is closed for two weeks while we relocate to another address in town.

The Monarch butterfly population in North America is experiencing a massive decline, but if governments and citizens act soon I’m certain we can save that species from collapse or extinction. This week I tabled a non-partisan motion in parliament that could serve as a strategy to stem the decline and help restore the Monarch population to its traditional level.

Coming up this weekend and through to Tuesday and the following weekend are celebrations marking both Canada Day and July 4th across borderland. A combined effort on both sides of the border has created a weeklong celebration.
