Leadership to blame for postal woes

In last week’s column I tried to look into the crystal ball for the year ahead. This week it’s back to the present, or recent past I should say, to look at the end of Canada Post as we know it.

The rise and fall of the paper industry

The steam continues to rise from the Resolute Kraft Mill in Fort Frances. The steam pours through the vents above the paper machines today. Most workers still employed in the Resolute Mill at Fort Frances have received termination notices.
The company has committed to keeping the heat in the buildings through this winter at a significant cost to corporate profits. Resolute has said that they hope to repurpose this mill and be able to bring back workers.
