Fall is my favourite time of the year - as I look around at all the glorious fall colours I am filled with a sense of awe at nature’s beauty and at God’s creative handiwork.

After years of talking about it, Canada is finally going to have a national organic food standard, and in time for a European deadline.

The Tiny Kinglets

There are two species of kinglets, and both of them breed here in Northwestern Ontario. They are little birds, smaller and shorter than most warblers, with pointy beaks. They also have a habit, which makes them appear quite nervous, of flicking their wings quite often.

People from Rainy River and Bergland met again for their third week of the Biggest Loser Contest last Tuesday & Wednesday. There again the rooms were full of activity as everyone waited to be weighed and to find out who the Biggest Loser would be.

Yes you can actually hail a cab in Rainy River again.
For several years now the community has been without taxis but retired CNR worker Jim Drennan and CN Hotel Manager Marion Brumwell have changed all that.
