Patrick Briere brings lots of skill and enthusiasm to Rainy River as the community's new Recreation Director.

On Wednesday, November 7 Jackie Lampi-Hughes from the Energy Fitness Centre came to our school and danced away the afternoon with out kids from JK to 8. She took each class for a half hour of high intensity aerobic workouts to music. The kids loved it and Jackie was amazing.

Thunder Bay Telephone had crews in Rainy River over the past couple of weeks to lay a dedicated high speed internet line from their tower just north of the railway tracks down to the Rainy River Hospital.
They turned a lot of heads and had people wondering what they were doing, but the work is now completed and will soon be nothing more than a memory.

As The Last Post was played by Dr. Dave Singleton of Rainy River (not seen in photo), Legion Sgt. At Arms Terry Cooper, right, lowered the Canadian Flag to half mast while the crowd looked on. About 200 people attended Remembrance Day services in Rainy River on Sunday. More photos inside.

Emily, Elizabeth and Saragh Fraser of Rainy River qualified for a national cross country meet on Saturday in Apple Valley, MN.

Seven teachers from the Rainy River District School Board were presented with a certificate on Friday after completing an intensive and specialized year-long Reading Recovery training program. The program helps to support young children who are struggling with reading and writing.

Manny Nordin is seen laying a wreath at the cenotaph in RR on Sunday during Remembrance Day ceremonies there.
