Spring has sprung!

The Rainy River opened in front of the Town of Rainy River on Sunday, April 3, 2011. By Monday morning the park was busy with several Canada Geese who honked incessantly as our photographer tried to get closer for a better shot.

The price one pays!

Staff at Riverview School were auctioned off to raise money for bed kits for kids around the world. They were then dressed by the bidders that won them! Tribute to Franki Valli

Paul Fracassi, former Star Search champion and Canadian Idol contestant will be the big ticket in Rainy River this Saturday as he does a tribute performance to Franki Valli! The performance is a fund raiser with all proceeds going to Rec. Board projects.

Holy sounds from afar

Members of the Moody Bible Institute Chorale of Chicago, Illonois, performed in Rainy River last Wednesday at the Evangelical Covenant Church. Rachel and Miriam Mast of RR and Kelsey Quibell of Emo, are seen in the background while a soloist sings. The three local girls attend school at Moody and are on tour with the the Moody Chorale. Big treat!

Area residents had a big treat as the Moody Bible Institute's Chorale group, from Chicago, performed in Rainy River last Wednesday. Three local girls, Miriam and Rachel Mast and Kelsey Quibell are in the group.

Nearly open

The former Roadrunner Motel is now called the Walla Walla Inn! New owner Bryce Campbell, said that with the help of Patti Diebel and her parents John and Mary Sanderson, they are nearly ready to reopen the motel. They have been busy renovating and have been renting out rooms that are ready at a discount. Campbell is optimistic that they will have the business officially open in early April.

'A' event champs!

Dale Morrison's rink defeated the Ken Vogan rink 9-6 in the final Rainy River curling bonspiel of the season over the weekend. They are left to right, Dale Morrison-Skip, Allan Wolanicki-Third, Donna Ivall-Second and Susan Wolanicki-Lead.
