Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton recently celebrated the 100th Day of school this year!

The Rainy River Legion presented members of the Lake of the Woods Girls high school hockey team with $3,000 last week. It is a donation to help pay for ice time for the team which has players from both sides of the border. Residents at Rainy River's Heritage House held a Valentine's Day Tea Monday afternoon, serving some delicious cake and of course tea and coffee! At left, Lena Beuchart pours some tea for Rose Hanson, center and Millie Kuchma, right.

Rainy River residents were without water on Wednesday after a major water main break on the bottom block of Second Street. Water filled sidewalks, lane-ways and the street, creating a wet and icy mess as seen here.

Students at Our Lady of the Way School in Stratton celebrated Family Literacy Day last Thursday. Some came dressed as their favourite character from a book. In the afternoon they participated in various activties including the one seen above where they drew a scene and then created a short story about it. Fort Frances town councillor Rick Wiedenhoeft, right, addresses the delegates at the RRDMA meeting in Stratton Saturday, asking for support to look at a regional airport. At present it is a municipal airport and run by the Town of Fort Frances.
