Where do you read the Record?

Local boy, Ben Mast, recently sent us this photo of him reading the November 10, 2009 edition of the Rainy River Record in Santa Cruz Balanya, Guatemala. He apparently expanded our readership by at least seven kids! Send us your photos reading the Record from unique places and we may publish them in future editions! Our email is editorial@rainyriverrecord.com

Boost for Ultra-sound

The Township of Dawson presented the Rainy River Hospital with a $1,000.00 donation on Monday to help with the cost of the new Emergency Room Ultra-sound. This brings the fundraising drive to the $56,000 mark, just $4,000 short of their goal of $60,000. Fr. l. to r., accepting the cheque is Nurse Manager Tammy McNally and presenting the cheque is Dawson Councillor Linda Armstrong. If all goes well the training of the local doctors will be done Nov. 17 and 18th and the machine will be available for ER use on the 19th.
