A third sewage lagoon was constructed just north of Rainy River. Once all the work on the sewer system is completed, it should put Rainy River in a very competitive position for attracting development.

The Rainy River Recreation Board held its first ever Christmas Colouring Contest with two lucky winners getting to ride on Santa's float in the Rainy River Santa Claus Parade this coming Saturday (see ad on page four for event schedule). The winners who will be riding on the float are Reese Chorney-1st in ages 4-8 and Jasmine Holmes-1st 9 and over! The annual Linda Johnston Memorial Alzheimer Dinner to Remember is just around the corner and organizers are busy getting ready for it! The event is scheduled for Jan. 23rd at the Rainy River Legion. Committee member Marlene McNally is busy soliciting and collecting items for the always great penny table. If you have anything you would like to contribute contact her or leave it at the Record office.

The newest piece of equipment at Rainy River Hospital is a $60,000 emergency ultra-sound that allows physicians to see inside a person almost immediately after they have arrived in the Emergency. At left, Dr. Albert Beller practises on volunteer guinea pig Andrea McNabb as he trained last week.
