Alice Bremault, right, of Rainy River was the lucky winner of one of two extra draws held at the Linda Johnston Memorial Alzheimer's Dinner last Saturday in Rainy River. She is seen here being presented the painting by Exec. Dir. Lynn Moffatt. The Painting was generously done and donated by Patti Diebel. The other bonus draw was for a $100 gift card from Canadian Tire. It was won by Kim Brown of Bemidji, MN.

Barry Potter of OMAFRA in Thunder Bay, spoke to the Rainy River Cattlemen's Association at their annual meeting last Thursday in Stratton. His presentation was about a new two step weaning technique using an anti-sucking device as seen at right.

Tickets for the Alzheimer Chairs for Charity raffle are now on sale at the RR Record, RR Legion, The Walla Walla Inn, and various Alzheimer volunteers. They were all painted by local aritists Vivian Locking, Linda Wattson and Patti Diebel, who all donated their time. The Adirondack chair was custom built by Record Publisher Jim Cumming. It was won two years ago by Harry Arnould who donated it back to the raffle. The draw will be held in conjunction with the Annual Linda Johnston Memorial Alzheimer Dinner on Jan. 28, 2012 at the RR Legion.

The RRHS Owls sports teams hosted the Ignace Falcons on Friday. Here are the scores. Jr. Girls Volleyball, Ignace Default- RRHS win, Sr. Girls Volleyball RRHS defeats Ignace 25-8, 25-22 and 25-14. Jr. Boys Basketball RRHS wins 29-26. Sr Boys Basketball RRHS wins 47-41.
