All five students from Riverview School that attended the Provincial Chess Championships in Thunder Bay two weekends ago medalled and qualified for the Nationals. They are back row, l. to r., Lemuel Carradice (Silver for boys 10-11), Madison Brown (Bronze girls 10-11) and Moriah Caradice (Gold girls 12-13). Fr. row, Naomi Caradice (Gold 7 & under girls) and Bethany Sinninghe (Gold girls 10-11). Last year's team was recognized for placing 7th out of 42 schools last year!

Jasmine Holmes' expression says it all! Whatever was in there was icky! Riverview Students participated in a Halloween Fair on Friday and one of the activities was the Mystery Table. They stuck their hands in holes and felt mysterious items. This one was obviously pretty scary!

To celebrate the completion of renovations to Riverview Manor, cake, dainties and coffee were served to the public last Tuesday courtesy of the Rainy River Social Services Administration Board. Fr. l. to r., Sandra Weir Housing Manager, Mayor Debbie Ewald and Donna Dittaro Chief Administrative Officer for RRDSSAB, cut a specially made cake for the occasion.

Tailor and Brooklyn Mosioner are seen here participating in the Rainy River Figure Skating Club's annual skate-a-thon Sunday. The club raised $5,300 to help with club expenses over the winter.

As part of Ontario Public Library Week, the Rainy River Library hosted several events. One of those was a concert on Tuesday at the RR Community Centre featuring the Borderland Orchestra who played for free to help raise money for the library. Below is Kitty Gale of the orchestra.

Last Friday several young people conducted a chalk attack on Rainy River. Anagen Wood, Kathryn Clifford, Karl Drakert, Jackie Wittich and Lindsey Westover drew positive chalk messages on Main St. and at Beaver Mills.
This was a Youth Engagement Initiative. The message seen here was "Ask Youth thoughtful questions and listen when they speak." It appeared in front of the Library.
