School board agreement ratifies with support staff

The Rainy River District School Board and the Educational Support Personnel have jointly ratified a proposed first agreement which is in effect from September 1, 2001 to August 31, 2003. The Rainy River District School Board ratified this contract at a Board meeting September 4, 2001.

Lake of the Woods School has a cooperative agreement with Rainy River this year, as they did with the Track and Field program last spring. They have four Canadian runners on the team this year: Shauna McInerney, Shantelle Davidson, Matt Neilson, and Jay Neilson.

Councillor questions $2,500 telephone call

Council spent nearly half its fifty minute regular monthly meeting Monday evening discussing a letter that cost the taxpayers $2,500 late last month. In a letter, dated August 10, 2001, council was informed that the consultant they hired to look at the town’s sewer system had misplaced a bill for $2,500.
