Grandma got run over by a reindeer!

The Source by Circuit City's float took first prize in Rainy River's Annual Christmas parade. Owner Lance Lindal had his truck decorated up with a glowing red nose (Rudolf we presume). On their way to the parade they hit grandma... just kidding! Taking 2nd and 3rd in the parade were Rainy River Drugs and the RR Figure Skating floats.

Santa baby!

Rainy River Toy Library Inc. hosted a very special visitor on Saturday. Santa Claus came in from the North Pole to visit with kids and adults. Former Rainy River resident Jennifer (nee Newman) Hudziak, now of Winnipeg, was on hand to take photos of people with Santa. Hudziak runs Glo Photography in Winnipeg. Second gas leak in a month

Rainy River Post Office was closed last Wednesday afternoon after staff members smelled natural gas. The Rainy River Volunteer Fire Dept. responded quickly to the call and determined the furnace in the basement was not working properly. It reopened once the situation was deemed safe.
A little over a month ago there was a gas leak at the CN Hotel.

Missed rebound

Rainy River's Cody Jarvis takes a shot last Wednesday against Pelican Falls. The RRHS Owls team narrowly lost 38-30. To the left Kelly Brown tries to move in for the rebound but the ball was snatched by their opponent.

103 years young!

Myrtle Lauzon, second from the right, was all smiles Monday as family and friends gathered in the commons room at the Rainy River Long Term Care Facility to celebrate her 103rd birthday. From the left, her daughter-in-law Jean Lauzon, her son Jerry Lauzon, Myrtle and her granddaughter Sandy Lauzon. They had live entertainment and cake for all! Myrtle is one of two Centenarians living at the Rainy River LTC.
