Dewey Beckel of Rainy River won the Men's Championship flight at the 44th Rainy River Open this past Sunday. Event organizer Bob McGreevy, left, is seen here presenting Beckel with the trophy. He shot an 85 on 18 holes to win by one stroke.

Trillium Project Ribbon Cutting

A brief ceremony was held on Friday at the Rainy River Public Library to unveil the new book shelves, made possible by a grant from the Trillium Foundation. The Fun Fly and air show (radio controlled planes) attracted many enthusiasts this weekend. Many camped on the grounds and during the day showed off their planes with acrobatic flying skills.

Rubber Duckie Boat, Taya & her mom Shannon Hagarty gave it their all during the Duct Tape Boat Races here on Sunday. They won the award for best theme boat.
