Thanks for being up-front Dr. Dave

Last Wednesday members of four communities gathered to learn about a proposal to build a duplex for locum doctors and medical students.

Ooops! We did it again!

Well last week I definitely proved that I am human. If you missed it, we had a typographical error on our front page, in the lead story, no less.

Struggling to let go of summer

It almost seemed criminal!
That was how I felt as I spent Thanksgiving Monday getting my place ready for winter.

100 years of being good neighbours

It is hard to believe it has been 100 years since the Great Fire of 1910.
As a kid I heard stories about how a big fire wiped out Baudette and Spooner and the mills in Rainy River as well.

Was the crowd camera shy this year?

While the crowd seemed to be as large as ever the final weigh-ins at the RRWT this year just did not seem to excite people.

Our fish are a missed opportunity

We are only days away from the 12th annual Rainy River Walleye Tournament.

Their and your job this election

There is a fever spreading across the Rainy River District and the only antidote will be administered on October 25, 2010 when the electorate casts their ballots.

Dreaming it, living it and dreaming again

Today marks the end of August and for me it is the end of summer.

I may have gotten my knees back!

I have always heard that as one gets older the aches and pains become more prevalent and in the past few years I have come to accept that I am going to have to buck up and accept them as part of my life.
As a young boy I could run like the wind. I remember participating in track and field and having great speed. But at the time the price of speed came with sore knees and ankles. The doctor told me I would likely have bad knees all my life and that they would get worse as time wore on.

Size, power and the printed word

I have just finished reading my boss's column (down below) as I start writing this Korner.
It is truely amazing how much technological advances have come.
