Pathways paved

Hazel Tullett was out enjoying the newly paved walkway along the river in Rainy River.

Deer Jimmy the Janitor

Jimmy the Janitor digs into a box of letters addressed to "Deer Jimmy". New Brunswicker, Sandy Gillis (Jimmy the Janitor) had the crowd laughing out loud on Friday night. The well attended performance was a fundraiser for the 2012 RRHS Chem Free Grad.

Rainy River District School Board Chair Michael Lewis, presented former RRHS Outdoor Activities Student Lindsey Bourre with a certificate of excellence last Tuesday at the monthy board meeting, held in Rainy River. At left is OAC instructor Guy Arpin and at right is RRHS principal Jim Chorney.

Norma-Jean Johnston, left, was given a token of appreciation at the RRDSB meeting last week for her 10+ years as an Education Assistant and her determination to run a board wide chess program. Presenting Johnston with a gift was board Vice-chair Diane McCormack.

Baudette Rotary give gift of words

The grade three class at Riverview school were excited to receive Canadian Dictionaries from the Baudette Rotary Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Club usually gives out dictionaries to the 3rd Grade students in the USA but this year they also received enough Canadian Dictioniaries for the Grade 3 class in Rainy River. Presenting the books were (l) Rick Larson and (r) Reed McFarlane of Baudette.

Cross Country Champs

These Riverview students brought home medals from the district cross country run that took place at Crossroads School on Thursday Oct. 6. Jackson Arpin 1st place grade 5 boys. Reece Chorney came insixth for grade 5 boys Lemual Carridice was 11th for grade 6 boys. Rebekka Fraser came in 2nd grade 5 girls. Lara Wood 1st place for grade 5 girls. Elizabeth Fraser 1st place for grade 8 girls.

Life membership!

Marlene McNally received a Life Membership designation in the RR Legion Ladies Aux. for all her years of service and contributions to Aux. functions and work. Legion President Walter Wagner made the presentation to her.
