Rainy River Record

Early Saturday morning the Rainy River fire department was summoned to the Bud Hannam residence where it was discovered Hannam's convertible car was on fire. Sources close to the scene said that the fire appeared to be deliberately set with gas cans found there not belonging to the Hannams.
Both fires are under investigation by the O.P.P. and the Fire Marshall's office.

Both Rainy River and Dawson Fire Departments were called to a fire just north of the Rainy River train bridge on Friday. The structure was saved, but there was extensive damage to the interior. The home was vacant and there was no electricity connected to it.

Soon the "Boys in Blue" will be wearing green as part of a special training session in the area for Ontario Provincial Police's Emergency Response Team.

Kailee Heyens, a Rainy River High School student, was sworn in a the last Rainy River District School Board meeting as a student trustee.
