A big help in the fight against cancer!

The Royal Canadian Legion, Major Hughes Br. 54, in Rainy River helped the first annual Relay for Life fight cancer in a big way last Wednesday. They presented the Relay for Life with a $2,000 donation!

Memorable moments

Rainy River High School held its annual Prom on Saturday with the theme being "Something to Remember." Thirty-five couples participated in the Grand March, dinner and dance. Above, Nikki Dyck, left, dances with her prom date Zack Sopotiuck.

Outdoorsmen

Ernie Drennan, left, and Zack Tolen, represented Riverview School at the first annual Rainy River District Challenge 2010 held near Quetico. The pair were 10 minutes ahead of their nearest competitor.

Tall task

Hydro One crews have begun to install new poles in the center part of Rainy River. A big section of town will see its grid replaced with the taller poles and fewer of them this summer. This one is at the corner of Third St. and Broadway Ave.

And so it begins!

A summer of construction has begun along Highway 11 in Rainy River as sewer and water lines from First St. to Tower Rd. get replaced. There will be some traffic delays and detours from now until the end of summer.
