Higher powers

Hydro One turned off the power for four hours last Tuesday so its crews could begin stringing wires on new poles along Third and Second Streets. The crews are seen here working in the alley between Third and Fourth St.

It is official!

After four years of high school the Rainy River High School 2010 graduates have officially graduated. They are seen here throwing their mortar boards up with joy just after the graduation ceremonies last Wednesday evening! Check out the photo gallery on this site of all the grad ceremony photos.

Taking her best shot!

Meagan Vogan, grade 7, of Riverview School is seen here throwing a shot put at the Rainy River District Elementary School track and field intermediate meet recently. The meet was hosted by Riverview School in Rainy River and on this shot Vogan threw 5.85 m and ended up winning the event. More photos and event results inside this paper.

Riverview students did well at last week's track meets with five students winning medals. They are Skyler Arpin, Carter Chorney, Jeff Lauzon, Elizabeth Fraser and Jasmine Holmes.

Knock out cancer!

Members of the Langlais family and some friends, formed a team called TKO (Total Knock Out) and vowed to fight cancer. They donned boxing gloves and had a ring set up at their camp to do battle with cancer.

In memory of Cindy

Siblings, parents and her own children as well as friends gathered to honour Cindy Mowe's (nee Hartnell) memory. She was well known in the area and sucumbed to cancer in 2004. They all wore pink and marched in the relay.
