McCrosson-Tovell School in Bergland recently received a donation from LoW groups to help them with swimming costs. The Rainy River Fire Department was called out last Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. to 305 Second St. where fire under a porch was reported. It was believed that the fire emanated from burning leaves along side the porch as the fire dept. checked under the porch and there was no wiring there. An unusual number of fire trucks arrived on the scene. Due to maintenance being conducted at the Rainy River Water Treatment Plant last week the town's water supply capacity was down which automatically triggered a fire call for assitance to the Dawson Fire Dept. in Pinewood.

Last year 58 booths were rented at the annual trade show in Rainy River. That was nearly a full house and was a record number for the event.

Members of the Rainy River Figure Skating Club were stars on ice Saturday and Sunday as they performed for two packed houses. The theme of the shows was Across the Universe. Above Emily O'Connor performs to the song Fire Flies.
