More than a million Rainy River Bucks were spent on Canada Day in Rainy River!
The culmination of about six weeks of shopping in Rainy River that included a bonus every time a consumer spent $10 in real money ended on Friday when the Chamber auctioned off merchandise for Rainy River Bucks.

Recently ground was broken for the Good News Fellowship’s new church on Railroad Ave. in Rainy River.

Local students take a trip back in time at one room school

Riverview Elementary School students had a chance to take a realistic trip back 100 years last Tuesday when they travelled to SS Spohn #2, one of the last remaining one room schools left in the region and it is still fully functional.

On June 30th the Rainy River Recreation Board and Fire Dept. will be hosting a street dance at Hannam Park (at the Rec. Centre if it rains).

(Fort Frances, Ontario) The Atikokan Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police is asking the public for help in solving a mischief. Sometime between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on June 10th, culprits vandalized several boat trailers that were parked at Turtle Lake Landing located approximately 0.5 kilometers east of Highway 622 on Turtle Lake. Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
