John Almers, age 94, of Fort Frances, Ontario passed away on Saturday, March 31st, 2007 at Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances, Ontario.
He was born on January 10th, 1913 in Morson to Johann and Nora Almers. He lived in the Morson area all of his life. In 1943 he was united in marriage to Yvonne Godin. They were inseparable. Together they worked at various tourist camps, commercial fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors. At home he enjoyed tinkering on boat motors and engines. He built various cabins in the Morson area.

March 23, 2007 Isabella passed away peacefully, at the Rainy River Health Centre, at the age of 97.
She is survived by her son, David & daughter-in-law Sharon, grandson Colin & his wife Laura, and their daughter Marion, and grandson Ian.

Frieda Wagner 97 of Rainy River, Ont, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2007 at the Rainy River Hospital, Rainy River, and Ont.
Frieda was born May 28, 1909 in Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1930 with her husband and two children. They settled in the Rainy River area, farming most of their lives and raised their four children.

Marie Clare Victoria Vincent passed away on February 26, 2007 in the Steinbach Hospital in Manitoba.
Victoria was born September 29, 1942 in Rainy River, Ontario.
Victoria is survived by her husband Raymond and children and grandchildren, Janette, Lindsay, Avery Krahn of Niverville, MB, Jeff & Barbara Vincent of Edmonton, AB Greg & Karon, Luke, Haily, Meagan Vincent of Birch Hill, MB, Holly & Ron, Auston, Meranda, Jordan, Nathon, Holly Hibert of Red Lake, ON. Also brothers and sisters, Louis,& Jessy Tetreault of Rainy River, ON, Donat & Kathie Tetreault to Winnipeg, MB, Gerald and Bernice Tetreault of Grand Forks, BC, Tony and Flo Tetreault of Regina SK, Adeline Kernatz of Foam Lake, SK, Rose Johnson of Rainy River and sister-in-law Arlene Tetreault of Winnipeg, MB and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peacefully on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Rainycrest Home for the Aged, Fort Frances, ON Almer (Al) L. Almers, formerly of Morson, ON passed away at the age of 86.
Al was born in Morson, ON to the late Nora and Johan Almers on March 26, 1920. He was united in marriage to Lorraine (Sis) Moen on November 3, 1945. Together they resided in numerous communities in Northwestern Ontario until finally settling in Morson. Al and Sis operated numerous businesses including Almers Fish Narrow Camp, Sis & Al’s Resort, Morson Live Bait and Al also worked many years as a commercial fisherman. During the Second World War, Al served with the Canadian Arm Forces in Canada, and was a valued member of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Janet Proudlock passed away February 7, 2007 after a short illness.
She was matron of the Rainy River Red Cross Hospital in the 50’s.
Survived by sister Joy Bourré and numerous nieces and nephew.

Olga was born in Harris Hill, ON January 18, 1917 to Lena & Martin Kreger.
She passed away January 17, 2007 in the Dryden Hospital with her family with her.
She attended school in Spohn #2 where she made many good friends and often talked about the good old day.
